- You design, implement and manage our cloud and on-premise environments and ensure secure, reliable operations. You actively use modern AI support in your daily work, from coding assistance to your own agents.
- You scale and optimize our Kubernetes clusters so they remain highly available and perform reliably under load.
- You use Linux, scripting and open-source tooling for system administration and automation, creating workflows that are transparent, maintainable and easy to operate.
- You expand our CI/CD pipelines so we can deliver software quickly, reliably and automatically.
- You further develop our Kubernetes operators and Helm charts, making the deployment of our platform simpler, safer and more repeatable.

WHAT YOU WILL MOVE FORWARD

- A degree in Computer Science or a comparable field.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, containerization and operating cloud-native applications, including Helm and ArgoCD. You have not only set up clusters, but also kept them stable and secure in production.
- Strong experience with our tech stack: Linux system administration and Infrastructure as Code with Ansible and Terraform/OpenTofu are part of your daily work.
- Solid CI/CD experience and the ability to set up automated test and deployment processes with tools such as GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform and Go is a plus. Our platform itself is cloud-agnostic.

We develop an Enterprise AI platform in Ulm that enables organizations to put AI to work quickly, securely and with measurable business value — built around data sovereignty and 100% "Made in Germany." Our platform combines modern AI technologies with a production-ready architecture, providing the foundation for scalable AI solutions in real business environments. We deliberately draw on a broad range of methods: from traditional machine learning and deep learning to time-series models, LLMs, RAG and agentic AI.

At AltaSigma, your work goes beyond concepts. You work on real use cases, real data and real customer requirements. You develop solutions that are actually implemented and used — with a clear focus on practical application, technical quality and visible impact.

WHAT WE DO AT ALTASIGMA

- You will develop LLM and agent systems for production use: from RAG pipelines, tool integration and orchestration to integration with our AI platform. You see robustness, evaluation and operations as integral parts of the solution.
- You will connect agents to the data and systems they need. You will develop your own MCP servers that access indexed knowledge bases or interact directly with source systems through SQL or APIs. Where appropriate, you will build knowledge graphs or implement other suitable indexing methods.
- You will build the data foundation for intelligent applications: integrating diverse data sources, developing and optimizing data pipelines, and modeling data for analytics and AI applications. You will account for data quality, data management and a scalable data architecture.
- You will select and evaluate models for each specific use case — using systematic benchmarking rather than gut feeling.
- You will develop solutions for real customer applications, not to sit on a shelf. You will actively use AI in your own day-to-day work, from AI-assisted coding to building your own agents.
- You will analyze business requirements and translate them into technically robust solutions with clear business value, working closely with our customers.

- A degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or a comparable field.
- Practical experience as a Data Scientist or ML Engineer — you have brought LLM systems into production and understand what matters in real-world deployment.
- Confident, hands-on Python skills — from quickly exploring data to developing production-ready components. You are familiar with PySpark and modern lakehouse formats such as Delta or Iceberg.
- Experience with the LLM stack: RAG pipelines, LLM frameworks, vector databases and indexing methods. You know how to give agents access to tools and data — ideally, you have already developed your own MCP servers.
- A solid understanding of machine learning and current developments around LLMs and agent systems. You know when to use which approach — and where its limitations are.
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD, as well as cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP, is a plus. AltaSigma itself is cloud-agnostic.
